Colton grew up on a farm in Langley, immersed in working with horses, riders, and training farm dogs from the age of three. With a strong foundation in hard work and customer service, he also played hockey while developing a lifelong passion for animal training.
In 2017, Colton and his wife adopted Hugo, a six-month-old Staffie-Great Dane cross. Facing preconceived notions about the breed, Colton dedicated himself to training Hugo and changing perceptions about misunderstood dogs—this inspired him to launch Unite Canine Training in 2019. What started as a part-time venture helping local farm clients quickly grew into a full-time business, training over 1,500 dogs across North America. Colton’s commitment extends to giving back, currently donating time and trainer resources to a local rescue to rehabilitate 14 feral Chihuahuas and supporting other rescues to provide dogs a second chance at life. Today, Colton balances running Unite Canine Training with family life on a beautiful Langley acreage, while supporting his wife to focus on motherhood. His goal remains clear: helping families raise calm, confident, and well-mannered dogs, while building a world-class dog rehabilitation and rescue centre.
